OCEAN VIEW COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION REPORTED TODAY ON ITS GIFT OF FREE TURKEY DINNERS ON THANKSGIVING DAY. According to OVCA's Events Coordinator Chris Garske, between 450 and 500 big dinners with turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls, mac nuts, biscotti, green beans and corn, were distributed before the food ran out.

About 20 volunteers put together free dinners
to give out on Thanksgiving Day at OVCA.
Cars lined up for blocks at noon. By 1:45 p.m. all the food was gone. Garske said that "sadly, a handful of cars had to be turned away." He gave a "huge thanks to Dave Anderson, who did the lion's share of the organizing, purchasing, fundraising and cooking, and the 20 volunteers who helped pull it all together. A lot of people who really needed a nice Thanksgiving got one, and the people who came for the food poured out a lot of gratitude for living in such a wonderful community."
